Thea is a cook and artist from Paisley. She takes to Cafe OTO’s stove most days, devising vegetarian recipes often inspired by her time working with cooks from all over the world at Migrateful’s Cookery School

She combines cooking with art and is learning how to use vegetables and plants to make inks, paint, dyes, print emulsions and photographic developers. She works primarily with analogue film, hand processing and printing.

Her photography amplifies the surreal nature of vegetables, animal forms and the bodily experience of preparing and eating food. She graduated in music from Clare College Cambridge in 2019 and occasionally performs. She collects recordings of church bells, sacred places + snippets of classical music and keeps lists of strange phrases. These feed her interest in the senses, inform her own improvisations on tape and writing of visceral texts. These are all produced in an attempt to magnify how it feels to spend life looking closely.

She contributes recipes to Infant Tree’s regular newsletter and has work showing next at Photobook Cafe’s group show Opening 15th January 2026.
